Our modern society is facing multiple challenges in the coming decades, particularly the preservation of our planet.

If we want to minimize our environmental impact, all stakeholders (governments, multinational corporations, organizations, SMEs, etc.) must consider how they can contribute to achieving this goal.

With this in mind, Europoly has implemented, in close collaboration with the Métropole Grand Lyon, an ingenious recycling process for its sidewalk cabinets that you can see in the streets of the metropolis.

Indeed, we have been collaborating with the Métropole Grand Lyon for over ten years to provide them with sidewalk cabinets that house the electrical systems of numerous urban installations.

The first generation of these cabinets was the “diamond points,” which have proven their reliability for over 40 years. A new design was introduced in the 2010s to replace them, addressing wear and tear as well as changing aesthetic preferences.

In the past, we would replace the cabinets and dispose of the old ones through waste management subsidiaries.

Nowadays, the old cabinets are repurposed either through reuse or energy production via incineration.

This video traces the entire recycling process established with the renewal of this contract in the early 2020s.

This approach has significantly reduced our company’s carbon footprint and proves that Europoly is capable of adapting to the challenges of tomorrow, showing that we are ready to contribute our part.

We hope you enjoy the video, and we look forward to working with you on new projects in the future.
