EUROPOLY, working closely with its export customer, designed and manufactured the tooling for a reinforced cabinet to house a very large track disconnect switch for trams and metros. Our export sales team and our design and development office analysed the customer’s specifications and then produced the design and tooling plans.
The manufacturing tools and moulds were produced in-house. Finally, EUROPOLY took charge of manufacturing these polyester cabinets.
The technical challenge was significant for both our client and us. Specific characteristics had to be respected, such as opening the cabinet on three sides with five doors, installing a reinforced four-slope roof, mounting a polyester box on one side, and finally reinforcing the cabinet for heavy loads without increasing its weight.
Thanks to the expertise of both companies, we were able to produce these cabinets and satisfy the customer. Now, for this key player in the world of switch and circuit breaker installation in tramways and metros, the dedicated cabinet has become its standard.
