EUROPOLY, in collaboration with its client and the municipality of Calais, designed and manufactured the tools for a cover that protects retractable socket boxes from water infiltration.
Within a very short timeframe, our design and development team analysed the customer’s specifications and then produced the design and tooling plans.
Finally, once the studies and tools were complete, EUROPOLY took charge of manufacturing the polyester covers.
The technical challenge was to produce covers that were both lightweight, so that they could be easily removed by the operator, and very robust, as they were installed in an industrial port. Robust, lightweight honeycomb-type reinforcements were used.
Another challenge was to produce more than 100 bonnets in eight weeks, including tools. We therefore made every effort and, thanks to the integration of the entire production chain (design, tooling, manufacturing), EUROPOLY was able to satisfy the customer.
